Globe for All - Measure for Measure

November 1 – November 20, 2016

By William Shakespeare
Directed by Patricia McGregor

Measure for Measure is one of Shakespeare’s richest plays, mixing comedy and drama in a thrilling story of love and power. In a decadent Vienna, the strict, newly appointed leader Angelo wants to rid the city of moral decay—until he falls for a young nun pleading for the life of her brother and things get complicated. Justice, lust, hypocrisy, and redemption take center stage along with a wild cast of characters in a bold staging of this timely classic.

Globe for All includes grants from Elaine and Dave Darwin, Silvija and Brian Devine, Sanderson Family Foundation, The Parker Foundation, Wells Fargo Foundation, The Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation, Maggie Acosta and Larry Shushan, Michael T. Turner and Suzanne Poet Turner, and The County of San Diego. Financial support for The Old Globe is provided by The City of San Diego.

The Fall 2016 tour of Globe for All is dedicated to the memory of Stanley S. Edelstein.
