By William Shakespeare
Directed by Patricia McGregor
Measure for Measure is one of Shakespeare’s richest plays, mixing comedy and drama in a thrilling story of love and power. In a decadent Vienna, the strict, newly appointed leader Angelo wants to rid the city of moral decay—until he falls for a young nun pleading for the life of her brother and things get complicated. Justice, lust, hypocrisy, and redemption take center stage along with a wild cast of characters in a bold staging of this timely classic.
Globe for All brings live, professional productions of Shakespeare to diverse multi-generational audiences in neighborhoods throughout San Diego. Performed free-of-charge in nontraditional venues including homeless shelters, senior centers, military installations, community centers, and correctional facilities, these productions give audiences an intimate, compelling experience that fosters a shared sense of community between performers and spectators.
Seating at all performances is first-come, first-served. Also please note in the listings below that some of our partners will host free community meals prior to their performances.
