The Old Globe is the sole owner of information collected on this Site. Except in the event of the sale of our business, we will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. The Old Globe collects information from our users at several different points on our Site.
Generally, we limit the collection of information on this Site to what is known as non-personally identifiable information and we will not require you to provide more information than is necessary to participate in any of our activities on our Site.
However, in some areas on our Site we ask for and collect personally identifiable or financial information, and you may not be able to access those areas or use the services we provide in those areas of the Site without providing the required personal information. These services include registering at the Site, purchasing tickets to events, making donations, choosing to receive promotional materials, and signing up for educational programs. Certain areas of this Site require users to register before access or use is allowed. This Site's registration form requires users to give us contact information, unique identifiers, and demographic information. All registration information is submitted to us on a voluntary basis. Once you register, we use your contact information from the registration form to contact you with your Site password and user i.d. You may choose to receive information about us and our events and our promotional partners by "opting-in" as described below. By registering, you warrant that you are over the age of 13.
Once you are registered, you will receive a password and username which must be provided to use the members only restricted areas of the Site. You are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of your password and username.
Once you register with us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your password and username. If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter or receive communications regarding special offers or promotions offered by us or our promotional partners, we ask for contact information such as name and email address and permission to do so. If you do not "opt-in", you will not receive these types of communications from us. If you wish to stop receiving these communications, you may opt-out at any time. Please see below under "Opt-out". Users who subsequently choose to "opt-out" may still receive such communications for a limited time while we update our system and our partners.
Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether they should proceed with services that require an outside party, or not.
We request information from you on our ticket order and donation forms. To purchase a ticket or make a donation, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. We use an outside delivery company to deliver tickets, and a credit card processing company to bill for tickets and process donations. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. If we have trouble processing your order or donation, your contact information is used to get in touch with you. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PURCHASE TICKETS OR MAKE DONATIONS.
We also request information from you if you wish to sign up for one of our educational programs. To sign up, you must provide contact information and financial information (such as your credit card number and expiration date). This information is used to generate an enrollment list and to bill you for any applicable program fees. We use a credit card processing company to bill you for program fees owed by you. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. We also use your contact information to inform you of program details, cancellations, or to send you program materials.
We sometimes collect information to find out how people found our Site, which pages they visited, and how long they stayed. In addition, we may aggregate demographic, profile and non-personal information you provide and use aggregate information to better design our Site and our services. If you register at the Site, we may share this demographic and profile information with our advertisers, licensees and/or other business partners with whom we link to permit them to contact you with information about certain products and services.
We will not share financial information with our partners and advertisers. In addition, we will not share any details of your purchases or donations with our partners or advertisers.
We use an outside delivery company to deliver tickets, and a credit card processing company to bill users for tickets, donations and education seminar registration fees. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable or financial information for any secondary purposes. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable or financial information except for the purpose of providing these services.
As described above, users who register at our Site may choose to "opt-in" to allow us to send you communications from us and our partners. To do so, we may share certain information about you with our promotional partners. Please note that you have the right to "opt-out", also described above, if you later on choose to no longer allow us to share such information. We use a software technology called "cookies" to collect non-personally identifiable information. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices.
We reserve the right to change or remove this privacy policy at any time at our sole discretion. If we decide to change our privacy policy we will post those changes here, but we will not provide you with any specific notice of such changes. We encourage you to visit this area frequently to stay informed.
This Site allows you to view and change the personally identifiable information you previously provided. If you are a registered visitor, you are welcome to view, change or delete your registration information at any time, or to update the contact information we have for you or to inform us that you want to "opt-out" of receiving certain communications from us or our promotional partners.
