Happy Birthday, Mr. Shakespeare!

Kicking off the H6 events is the free annual AXIS event Happy Birthday, Mr. Shakespeare!, where everyone will be able to celebrate the Globe’s resident playwright with Henry 6–themed and family-friendly fun. Participate in a stage fighting demonstration and learn to craft roses, or enjoy our masquerade ball and apply to the sonnet competition to win prizes, plus more surprises.

11:00–11:15 a.m.: Ambient music by the Brandon Cerquedo Band
11:15–11:35 a.m.: Elizabethan dance workshop with Monique Gaffney
11:35 a.m. – 12:00 noon: Henry 6 puppet show with Gaston Morineau
12:00 noon – 12:25 p.m.: Word Up! sonnet performance with Ric Scales and other San Diego artists
12:25–1:00 p.m.: Henry 6 fight choreography workshop with Ben Cole
1:00–1:30 p.m.: Sonnet-writing competition presentation and judging
