Outdoor Copley Plaza
The eighth annual presentation of AXIS Día de Muertos/Day of the Dead Celebration returns this year with amazing performances! Activities will take place on Sunday, October 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m on the Outdoor Copley Plaza.
Altars, crafts, music and theatre performances inspired by the holiday will bring fun for the whole family to enjoy! With host Alejandra Enciso-Dardashti, featuring guest artists DAK Danza Azteca Kuauhkoalt, San Diego Guild of Puppetry, Colectivo Abracadabra, Jassiel Santillán and Maya Sofía, as well as our new CoLAB play with our community of City Heights written and Directed by our own Gerardo Flores Tonella.
11:00 a.m.: Welcome and pre-show announcements
11:05 a.m.: DAK Danza Azteca Kuauhkoalt - Aztec dance performance
11:15 a.m.: Un Viejo Amor performance by Jassiel & Maya
11:35 p.m.: CoLab Play 1st performance Al Sonar las Doce
12:00 p.m.: Felix Drums Workshop and Parade
12:30 p.m.: Death Has Butterfly Wings performance by Félix & Luna
12:50 p.m.: Colab Play 2nd performance At the Stroke of Midnight
1:10 p.m.: DAK Danza Azteca Kuauhkoalt - Aztec dance performance
1:20 p.m.: End show
